Mesh seat vs. hard shell seat:
F: I am building a recumbent myself. Shall I plan for a mesh seat or a glass fibre seat?
A: We recommend a mesh seat for comfort riding only because it eats up so much of pedaling energy.
If you want to go fast or long distances then a hard shell seat is the best choice.
Size of seats:
Q: For what size of person the different sizes S, M, L and XL will fit?
A: „S“-size seats are for persons up to 165 cm of size, the „M“ – size is from 160 cm up to 185 cm
the „L“ seat from 180 cm up to 195 cm and the „XL“ seat for persons of 190 cm and larger.
In case you are not sure, please, inform us of your size and weight and if you have longer
or shorter than normal legs. We will give you a profound recommendation.
Technical data:
Q: Could you give me some dimension of the seat, lenght width, etc..
A: In our price list you will find dimensions, weight etc. of our products.
Please, dont hesitate……
Q: To which angle fit the seats?
A: On European bikes, usually seats are set at around 35 5 degrees from
horizontal. What angle your seat need to be install for being comfortable?
This mostly depends of the Bottom Braket height.
Q: Lets say the BB is slightly higher than the seat, what would be the lowest angle of the seat
without having the back of the thigh rubbing against the bottom part of the
seat.
A: The seat should be mounted in less than 45 degrees to the horizontal line. If you are above or near the 45 degree
angle, we will give specific recommendations. On the other hand, 25 degrees is possible but very sporty
and not for everybody comfortabel anymore.
Edges:
Q: Are the edges sharp and need to be protected by something?
A: The edges are protected by a rubber/metal profile.
Q: Are there already holes in the seat to attach fixture or clamp to hold it to the
bike? If not, what would you recommend?
A: We assume that the buyer has some metal sheet with holes in his frame to take and fix
the seat. So, the seat comes without holes and is to be drilled where needed. Please, see the instructions down below.
we can supply the seat with 2 U-shape profiles. But, nevertheless, the seat has to be fixed
and drilled in places only the buyer can know according to his construction.
Q: In the products list there is also a seat cushion and mesh material
Do I have to buy both?
A: the seat, the cushion and the mesh material are separate intems and can be bought individually.
Q: What is the tickness of your cushion?
A: The cushion is 20 mm thick and can be opened to put in further layers of damping material or to wash the cover. But normally there needs nothing to be changed.
– How to mount Novo-seats to a frame:
Important
safety instructions!
We sell seats for homeworkers also.
The mounting of the seat, however, has to be done by an experienced bicycle mechanic.
we recommend to put a piece of foam
or old tube in the area between the frame and the seat. thus screetching and wear
around the bores is prevented.
Bring the seat to its final position
anf ix it there provionally.
tangieren.

Q: How to mount a Novo headrest to a Novo-seat
A: You put the headrest behind the seat, find the right place and drill through the 3 holes corresponding holes
in the seat. Fix the head rest with the enclosed 3 screws, nuts and washers.
Q: will the Air Flow seat cushion conflict with the Novo headrest?
A: Please, mount the cushion as best as you can. You may find that the black cordura
conflicts with the screws and the headrest and crumples there. If you dont mind, fine
and everything is ok. But if you want, you can cut the cordura at the appropriate places
and seal the cutting areas with an open flame so that the fibres melt and the woven mesh
will not disengage further.
